A Wedding Of One Of Our Own

Meet our groom, Brent...
Meet Liz, our bride
& a Class Act event coordinator...

Together, a match made in heaven.

From a winter wonderland engagement to a garden tea-party wedding, Liz {one of our coordinators here at Class Act Events} wanted something she knew only Class Act could offer:
beautiful rentals and priceless coordination.

From burlap table runners to three tiered trays, advice on which caterer to use and DJ to book, Class Act was able to invest and help Liz and Brent plan their dream wedding.

Featuring rentals from Class Act Events & Rentals.

A huge thanks to Erich McVey Photography for his beautiful pictures and capturing these priceless moments. Liz and Brent's wedding took place this summer at Green Villa Gardens in Independence, where the gardens were full and blooming, and the sun was shining brightly.

They were married earlier this summer at Log House Gardens. Mindy, one of our Class Act Events coordinators, helped the bride and groom plan their big wedding day.

Thank you to Erich McVey Photography for helping make this wedding wonderful, and capturing these amazing moments. We appreciate you sharing them with us!

More weddings to come from Class Act Events, including a wedding from one of our own...

Robotics

Welcome to the World of Robotics

robotics:

the branch of technology that deals with the design, construction, operation, structural disposition, manufacture and application of robots.

robotics is related to the sciences of electronics, engineering, mechanics.

How do robots and technology relate to Class Act Events?

Because we were asked to bring our expertise

to this inspiring, student-oriented, national event.

Mindy, one of our lead coordinators at Class Act Events, has been involved with FIRST, the organization that puts together Robotics, for the past six years. The FRC {FIRST Robotics Competition} challenges teams of young people and their mentors to solve a common problem in a six-week time frame using a standard "kit of parts" and a common set of rules. Teams build robots from the parts and compete in games designed by a committee of engineers and other professionals.

think local.

Robots can be seen in West Salem among their students. Walker Middle School and West Salem High School both sent teams to compete in a World Robotics Tournament last spring.

Robotics and FIRST redefines winning for these students by rewarding teams for excellence in design, demonstrated team spirit, gracious professionalism and maturity, and the ability to overcome obstacles. Scoring the most points is a secondary goal. Winning means building partnerships that last.

think Class Act Events

As a coordinator for Class Act Events, Mindy has plenty of experience in festivals, conferences, weddings and corporate parties. But Robotics is a whole other world.

Mascots. Mini "Bots." Gracious Professionalism. Robot Challenges.

It was a world Mindy loved, and has loved for the past six years of working on these competitions. Mindy has coordinated events in San Diego, Oklahoma City, Portland, San Jose and Salt Lake City, and was excited to join the FIRST team for the St. Louis championships this year. Class Act Events is thrilled to be working on Robotics as part of the New Hampshire-based Show Ready Events team. With six seasons down, Mindy is ready for another year of Robotics.

Why Hire a Wedding Coordinator?

WhyWhyWhy?

Spring is upon us and love is in the air.

Are you planning on enjoying the sun (that will SOMEDAY show up) while looking forward to your wedding, or will you be stuck inside with the stress of running the show?

Think you're fine on your own? You may be...

...But you may not be.

Why, you may ask? Let us tell you...

Why Hire a Wedding Coordinator?

No. 10: Because an invitation should not come with a to-do list. It's a Party! Let your guests enjoy being guests at your wedding. A coordinator can take care of all the little chores and behind-the-scene action that takes place. You and your guests only need to concentrate on having a good time.

No. 9: Because planning is half the fun! Hiring a coordinator relieves you of the stress associated with planning an important event and lets you pick and choose the aspects of the day you want to focus on yourself.

No. 8: Because you should never have a regret on your wedding day. Problems that often would be overlooked are spotted right away and solved when you have a qualified coordinator on your side.

No. 7: Because everyone has a budget. A wedding coordinator can help you prioritize your budget and maximize the use of your funds.

No. 6: Because the Yellow Pages does not come with a ratings system. Wedding coordinators know from years of experience who the best of the best is when it comes to vendors. Hiring a coordinator means you will be introduced to the best florists, photographers, caterers...

No. 5: Because every family has dynamics. This is an emotional time for everyone involved, and oftentimes the stress can be a bit overwhelming. A coordinator with an objective opinion can oftentimes ease the tension and offer alternatives and useful solutions to seemingly unique problems.

No. 4: Because you should not have to worry if the Espresso Caterer shorts a circuit, the DJ cannot find the house, and the neighbor's cat found the cake. A wedding coordinator is taking care of business while you and your friends and family are relaxing and enjoying special moments together.

No. 3: Because Aunt Lynn is wonderful, but she might not completely understand your vision. A qualified wedding coordinator gets it. Let your friends and family enter your celebration with awe as they see your vision for the first time - perfectly executed down to the tiniest detail by your wedding coordinator.

No. 2: Because you cannot risk losing your great grandmother's cake cutter. Amidst all the excitement, it would have been easy to forget. But since you hired a coordinator, you will drive away secure in the knowledge that all your gifts, your cake cutter, your toasting glasses and our guest book were loaded safely in the back seat.

And the number one reason to hire a wedding coordinator is...

No. 1: Because you would not go skydiving without a parachute. Sure, you could do it. But the ride is much sweeter when you can take the time and enjoy the view knowing that your landing will be perfect.

Welcome the spring love, and come in today for a free consultation at Class Act Events.

While We Were Out...

Where has time gone? It's been a bit since you've heard from us at Class Act. Why, you may ask? Because we've been busy moving and shaking - literally.

Class Act Boutique has moved to a new location, and Class Act Events has been shaking up events.

Let us explain...

We've been asked time and time again why we decided to move, and the answer is simple:

To better serve you.

We wanted to expand our retail and boutique, and that meant a move to South Salem. With this move we have been able to increase our shop selection, bringing in new retail items for various departments. Because of this, we are not only a 'bride shop' anymore. Our gifts, accessories and decor have expanded to pets, birthday, travel, wedding, spa, entertaining, babies and children, books, and cards, not to mention the fun merchandise and decor we always have in stock for the season and upcoming holidays.

Have you been in to visit? Easter is hopping up on us, and Spring is blooming at Class Act Boutique!

Our new location is right next to Roth's Sunnyslope, in the former Corky's Daughter location.

4555 Liberty Rd SE, Suite 120, Salem, OR 97302

On the Class Act Events side of the business, we have been busy adding our expertise to events. From weddings and conferences, to corporate parties and trade shows, Class Act Events has been planning enticing events and glamorous get-togethers.

Let us briefly touch on a few of the events that have been keeping us busy...

Organized a treasure themed company holiday party.

Celebrated a successful festival with fireworks and lights.

Created a swanky, lounge corporate party in a country hotel.

Collaborated color and beauty in a romantic summer wedding.

And while the lists of company picnics, weddings, corporate holiday events and private parties continue, you can see we've had our hands full. Among these events are the National Guard Eagle Regions 2010 Conference and Expo, the Annual 2010 Oregon State Fiscal Association Conference, Portland Riverfest Festival, Tualatin Crawfish Festival, and Garten Services Auction.

Now that we've caught you up, we would like to apologize for the lack of communication on our part. Class Act's blog is up and running, and we hope you will check back in with us as we update our blog and Facebook regularly, featuring the boutique and our rentals and events.

2011 is bringing new and great things, and we want to share them with you!
