Robotics

Welcome to the World of Robotics

robotics:

the branch of technology that deals with the design, construction, operation, structural disposition, manufacture and application of robots.

robotics is related to the sciences of electronics, engineering, mechanics.

How do robots and technology relate to Class Act Events?

Because we were asked to bring our expertise

to this inspiring, student-oriented, national event.

Mindy, one of our lead coordinators at Class Act Events, has been involved with FIRST, the organization that puts together Robotics, for the past six years. The FRC {FIRST Robotics Competition} challenges teams of young people and their mentors to solve a common problem in a six-week time frame using a standard "kit of parts" and a common set of rules. Teams build robots from the parts and compete in games designed by a committee of engineers and other professionals.

think local.

Robots can be seen in West Salem among their students. Walker Middle School and West Salem High School both sent teams to compete in a World Robotics Tournament last spring.

Robotics and FIRST redefines winning for these students by rewarding teams for excellence in design, demonstrated team spirit, gracious professionalism and maturity, and the ability to overcome obstacles. Scoring the most points is a secondary goal. Winning means building partnerships that last.

think Class Act Events

As a coordinator for Class Act Events, Mindy has plenty of experience in festivals, conferences, weddings and corporate parties. But Robotics is a whole other world.

Mascots. Mini "Bots." Gracious Professionalism. Robot Challenges.

It was a world Mindy loved, and has loved for the past six years of working on these competitions. Mindy has coordinated events in San Diego, Oklahoma City, Portland, San Jose and Salt Lake City, and was excited to join the FIRST team for the St. Louis championships this year. Class Act Events is thrilled to be working on Robotics as part of the New Hampshire-based Show Ready Events team. With six seasons down, Mindy is ready for another year of Robotics.
